About the Co-Facilitators:

Mónica: I am also not an authority on any spiritual and magical practice. I primarily use divination tools like tarot and astrology, but my study of brujeria (witchcraft) primarily comes from a few mujeres (women) in my family, from the beautiful Sierra Madre region of Michoacán, Mexico, and self study. I am a Chicana, who has both colonized (roots from the Nahua and Purepecha peoples) and colonizer (primarily Spaniards) in my ancestry. I also have an extensive background in community organizing and liberation work, which I incorporate into my practices. As a result, I believe that activism is witchcraft in action. All of my backgrounds come together into a way where I strive to create an uplifting space filled with radical love, joy, and deep healing.

Dragon: I am not an authority on anything however I have been learning and practicing various witchy topics for 15 years actively, and my whole life passively since I was raised by a witchy woman, who comes from a family of witchy women. So all I can tell you is about my personal experiences and opinions, and from there I encourage you to make up your own mind about stuff. I'm a person of Celtic, Nordic, Germanic & Slavic ancestry, and those are the stories + practices I primarily draw from. I hope to facilitate creating a safe space for folx to reconnect with their bodies, the land, and their resilience. We're gonna need all three now and in the days ahead.

What to Bring:

A divination tool, A journal for taking notes, Something to write with (pen, pencil, crayons, whatever you like), Small snacks such as fruit or nuts/seeds. But these are all optional! Most importantly bring yourself and an open heart.

Note on the Format:

The general intention here is to co-create this container with the participants. We as facilitators can lead, suggest, and share as much or as little as is needed. We encourage participants at every step to share their own experiences and practices and volunteer to lead activities at any time. The dream is to have this as an ongoing organic space that grows and changes to fit it's participants. We all have things to share and learn from each other!
