HOLY WOW! Has it already been a whole YEAR?!?

We're looking forward to another year of supporting local artists and building community in White Center. To celebrate, we're hosting a few artists who have had a meaningful impact on us.

Firstly, @kverityart Kelly Dean Verity was the first artist we ever hosted in our space for our first every @ratcityartwalk . You can't get much more special than that! Kelly is a queer trans artist based in Seattle, Washington, who specializes in alternative, occult, and fantasy-themed art and merch. They are inspired by concepts of juxtaposition, queerness, subversion, pop culture, mutation, and intense colors. They work digitally as well as with variety of traditional mediums including gouache, acrylic, blacklight reactive, and glow in the dark art.

Secondly, @iliothermia - Hyde Angelus was the second artist we hosted in our space! I'll never forget their honest feedback and support they gave during their first time vending with us. Their art had us all squeeing with delight over how incredibly talented they are! Hyde's art focuses on love with influences of Greek and Jewish culture, often featuring transmasc figures.

Lastly, but DEFINITELY not leastly, @cerulean.serpent Dragon has become a bit of a staple at The Mead Center! Since meeting them at the @tractortavernmakersmarket , Dragon's relationship with us has evolved into awesome events curated by them - Including their montly@feedingthecauldron witchy skillshare meetups and their markets, @unseenemporium . We are eternally grateful to them for taking a chance on us an hope our relationship continues to grow! Cerulean Serpent Creates Beautiful Adornments & Sensory Tools for Queers, Punks & Outcasts. These include Witchy AF Natural Perfumes, Bitchy AF Engraved Crystal Candi Bracelets, Ritually Empowered Necklaces & Plastic Free Biodegradable Glitter Blends.

Join us for a fun and inspiring Happy Hour Plant-Stick Workshop! Enjoy a unique twist on my regular workshop as we craft elegant 10-inch copper plant sticks. Your workshop fee covers all materials to create your first three plant sticks. Want to make more? Additional plant sticks are just $10 each, paid directly to the instructor at the end of class.

The first hour is dedicated to guided instruction as you create your initial three plant sticks. Feel free to stop there, or continue crafting! Afterward, enjoy an hour and a half of HAPPY HOUR—complete with all tools, copper, and crystal beads provided.
